About Me
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USE SAFE TRADING __________________________________________________ Being a social network with fees, SaySwap DOES promote and support game for game trading (direct trade of two games to one another), but it is AT YOUR OWN RISK and only as long as points are used to initiate and/or complete the trade. Example: User 1 agrees to trade Call Of Duty 4 with User 2 for Halo 3. Both users trade the two games normally, each using 40 points and a token. This is the safest way to assure that all site guarantees are locked in. The unsafe way (and one which could possibly get you banned) is to do the trade without using tokens and points (commonly known as an "off-site" trade). So simply put, trading game for game using points and token = generally safe trade, trading game for game without using points and tokens = scammed or banned. Pretty simple, huh? __________________________________________________ * Bad Traders __________________________________________________ These are users who have poor trading skills (i.e; they donot send games in a reasonably timely manner, donot keep good communication with other users about game status, etc). If a username is listed in this group, I have received a complaint and/or am currently investigating that person for suspected scammer activity. Being listed in this group DOES NOT mean the person IS a scammer, but instead that caution and discretion should DEFINITELY be used when dealing with the specific user. __________________________________________________ * Excellent Traders __________________________________________________ These are users who have great trading skills (i.e; they send games in a reasonably timely manner, keep good communication with other users about game status, have games which are in good condition, etc;). I recommend trading with these users if you get the chance: StormGryffen, Keep-It-Moving, waste420, pierresurfing, HybridChyld, wraithe ____________________________________________________________ OFFSITE TRADERS BEWARE! _____________________________________________________________ I cannot stress enough the importance of not participating in "offsite trading". It's a no win method of trading. While there ARE "honest" traders who use this method, they are actually (and perhaps unknowingly) scamming the SaySwap company themselves. How? Simple, SaySwap provides a service (it gives us members a fairly safe forum of games and traders in which to trade with). SaySwap is, in effect, the "middleman". We get the games we want and SaySwap gets their "cut" via the Purchase points and Trading tokens system fees. By not using this system, but opting to use offsite trading instead, a trader is scamming SaySwap out of their "cut" as middleman. So you see, even if a member feels they are an honest "offsite" trader, by sending games in a timely mannner and keeping their trade partner informed of a games shipping status, they are actually breaking the site rules by being dishonest and not using the points and token system. Again, not using the Direct Trade system as it was designed and instead using "offsite" trading, is grounds for an immediate termination or ban from the SaySwap site. Yet another reason to avoid "offsite" trading as if it were a plague is because scammers find it much easier to target victims this way. They know that if a user is scammed while doing an "offsite" trade it CANNOT be reported to the SaySwap administrators and/or staff because such trading is not supported. All site guarantees are null and void using this method (in short, the user is simply out of luck) because there is no proof that the trade even exists and it's the user's word against the scammer's. If ANYONE is scammed in an "offsite" trade, that person is just as guilty of wrongdoing as the actual scammer. ____________________________________________________________ F.A. Q. ____________________________________________________________ Q: I'm only 14 and my parents won't let me use a credit card to do real trades on here and that's why I do honest off site trades. Will they ban me for that? ===================================================== A: Any user not using the Purchase Points and Trading Tokens in a trade run the risk of being suspended or banned from using the site. If you are not of age to obtain a credit card, you CAN get a debit card which acts as a credit card, but is based on money you put into your debit account. If you'd like information on one of the many online companies who provide debit cards, feel free to contact me and I'll send you a list. ===================================================== Q: I'm being investigated?! WTF? I'm not a scammer!! ===================================================== A: Investigations focus not only on dishonest trading within the site's trading and direct trading, but also on those using the site to conduct "offsite" trades. Anyone conducting offsite trades will be investigated and, if caught reported. Investigations are not a "witch hunt" to destroy anyone's reputation or standing within the community and are conducted fairly with ALL members being given a chance to explain their version of how a trade was conducted. It is a fact finding mission whereby all findings are reported to proper SaySwap admin and listed based on SaySwap's actions. ===================================================== Q: I just put in the mail a game to CA from AZ. Alhough it was printed out from the printer, there was no postage on the page, instead it said more postage needed. Why was there no postage? The site says postage free within the 50 states? ===================================================== A: Mailing costs, labels and tracking are all automated processes (if you are shipping within the USA), so it could be a computer glitch misprint. However, SaySwap only provides the ability to print out a postage paid envelope to new US users for a limited time. That time may have expired. ===================================================== Q: How can I direct trade another member for extra points? How does that work? I offered him 60 points for "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune", but we don't know how to conduct business. Basically, how do I get him the 60 points and he get me the game...thru sayswap? ===================================================== A: Simple really. You do what I call an "Empty Direct request". Since SaySwap doesn't have any one game with a 60 point value, you will need to "empty request" 2 or 3 games which total value equals the 60 point value and have the sender only send you the one game. They will still have to accept and confirm shipment on the other game or games, but they are only obligated to send you the one game (Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) as per your agreement. You will also have to give feedback on the "empty trade" once you receive 'Uncharted". Using this method will, of course, mean that you MUST use one token for the 40 point game and an additional token for each game you "empty direct request" to provide the agreed upon extra points to the shipper. ===================================================== Q: If I trade a game with someone, and I get a custom burned cd that works fine but is illegally made, what should I do? And what if it doesn't work? ===================================================== A: Whether it works or not, you should report it to hotchick or SaySwap admin. Such a game trade falls under Article 3 of the SaySwap Terms Of Service (TOS) which states: "You agree that your use of the Service must comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, and that you will not use the service for any illegal purpose. " In short, if the game is an illegally pirated copy then you are now the proud owner of stolen goods. Should it come to light who the person is that shipped this game to you then that user will be banned from SaySwap and could possibly face criminal charges. And you could be banned and prosecuted as well for knowingly being in receipt of the material, but not reporting it. ____________________________________________________________ TRADING ____________________________________________________________ When it comes to trading I am very trusting, but I'm not an idiot. I can spot a scammer simply by looking at three key items on their user page and even without those I can "sense" (yes, much like Spiderman's spidey sense) who is a scammer. Donot test me on this, I assure you that you will lose. If you wish to trade with me here is how I conduct my trades: ************************************************************************************ DIRECT TRADING ************************************************************************************ If your Swap score is higher than mine and your Feed Back rating is mainly positive, I will initiate the process and send my portion of the trade first. I don't generally trade game for game, but on rare occassions I do. If I do trade game for game it must ALWAYS be done in accordance to the site rules. In short, don't ask me to do an "offsite" trade. My stance on those should be quite apparent if you've read this far into my page. ************************************************************************************ If your Swap score is lower than mine and your feedback is negative or very little feedback has been given I expect you to initiate the process and send your portion of the trade first. ____________________________________________________________ *** PLEASE NOTE: I REQUEST THAT THE MANUAL AND JACKET COVER (COVER ARTWORK) BE INCLUDED WITH ALL GAMES SENT TO ME VIA DIRECT TRADE. *** It may not be stated when you are sending the game, but please know that I DO indeed want those items. NO "DISC ONLY" trades! ************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************ OLD SCHOOL GAMES ************************************************************************************ SaySwap's database is great for today's gamers and systems, but what if you are also nostalgic and love playing your "old school" systems (Super Nintendo, Original PlayStation games, N64, Sega, Atari, etc)? If you also enjoy old school gaming and would like to buy, sell, and trade, feel free to contact me and ask for info on a cool site where you can do just that. And if you're a gamer from Kentucky or Indiana, I have a local trade group that I can give you a link to if you'd be interested. :) ____________________________________________________________ LOCKED GAMES _____________________________________________________________ I DONOT trade any games on my "Have" list if they are locked. The only exception to this rule is if a member has a game(s) of equal point value which is listed on my "Want" list. For example: One of my 40 point value games for another user's 40 point game listed on my "Want" list. Or a 40 point game for four (4) 10 point games listed on my "Want" list. As long as the point values are equal, I will consider trading. This is only a consideration, however, not a guarantee that I will trade. But it never hurts to ask if you have a game or games I am looking for. ************************************************************************************ MAILING GAME/GAMES ************************************************************************************ When I mail out games they are in playable condition (free of scratches and/or other abrasions which cause skipping and/or lags. I now ship them in bubble wrap lined envelopes and plan to begin using delivery confirmation (signature required for delivery) in the near future. When I officially send out a game I will visit the trader's page and inform him or her of the exact day it was sent, which carrier was used (United Parcel Service or Standard USPS), and when possible a projected arrival date. I cannot control mail service, but I can guarantee that I will keep the trader abreast of any problems which may delay delivery. In the rare event that a game has any defect, I inform the user of the exact condition of the game before I ship it. I then give them the option of whether to receive the game or cancel shipment based on the info. It is very rare that this would happen, but I like to cover all basis to ensure a good trading experience. ************************************************************************************ SaySwap Purchase Points: 40 | SaySwap Trading Tokens: 1 ************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************ ABOUT ME ************************************************************************************ Please note that I donot represent SaySwap admin in resolving any claims or allegations against users. I am merely a concerned member who is compiling a list of known scammers in an attempt to help make SaySwap safer for it's truly honest members. I'm also a freelance illustrator (artist) who specializes in the fantasy art genre. You can check out some of my art at the link below:
