First of all, man up and play Hardcore. All the cool kids are doing it. :)

If you do play hardcore, run the G3, silenced, with UAV Jammer, and Dead Silence on.

You will never show up on radar and you can virtually go anywhere you want as long as you stay out of the sight of the enemy.

The G3 is best used at mid to long range. Counter-sniping is a breeze with this beast. Most of the time it is one shot kill, and since we all know how snipers love to watch that radar for their next target, you'll never show up. They show up when they shoot, you won't. So if you miss, no big deal. I NEVER MISS THOUGH! :) :)

Give it a whirl, be patient and take your time. It is NOT a run and gun set up. It's a kill and relocate set up. Or camping...if you are so inclined.

Claymore Placement

It's important to place your claymores at the right angle, when selecting a hot spot to put them. 90 degree angles are not good, especially if you're trying to hid one next to a doorway. Instead, place them in the same place and angle them away from the door at around 45 degrees. This will allow the blast to be felt by your enemy much more!

You can also place claymores near cars, for the ultimate blast :)

Be sure to get rid of those bad boys, because what's the point of having the claymore perk, if you don't use them before you die...good luck and let's put a game together sometime...

Laptops 19-21

Laptop 19 of 30 - When you head into the church, locate the ladder to the bell tower. The laptop is at the very top. Be sure to grab it before the chopper sees you and blows the tower up with missiles. Alternately, you can wait until the chopper passes through, then go back and get it.

Laptop 20 of 30 - The three guards near the laptop are the ones who can alert the others. Going through the open container is not a good idea (brightly lit, no cover). Instead, go to the container's left and snipe the enemy sitting down by the table made of drums.

When he drops, gauge the enemy reaction (hence why you pick up the P90 earlier) and snipe or aggressively attack the rest of the enemies to secure the place. The laptop is on the table made of drums.

Note -- you can rush in and take the laptop, die, and restart without having to do it again, since the secret saves to your gaming profile or gamertag.

Laptop 21 of 30 - .After crawling under the trucks, take your M21 rifle and down the sniper atop the external stairs. Your route goes through the second floor, but the secret is in a small room at the very top of the fire escape.

Help for one shot, one kill

At the end of the level one shot, one kill, you have to wait for the helicopter to come and pick up you and McMillan. It's a pretty long wait, and you'll have to fight off loads of baddies until the chopper comes. There's a really good hiding spot you can go to for this level to avoid almost all of the enemies. After dropping off McMillan in his sniping spot, look to your right, past the ferris wheel. There's a shack of some sort there. Go over there to the side of it closest to you (the right side if you're looking straight at it) and go prone. You shouldn't encounter many people in this spot, and if you do, just give them a couple of shots and they'll go down. But avoid shooting people if it's not necessary, because it'll attract more people. Good luck and hope this helps.

*EDIT* You can acutally go behind this house and you won't get hurt by radiation. There is even a tall white wooden fence that you can go behind and unless they see you, they won't know you're there. If they see you, look under the house and watch for their feet when they're coming.

Unlockable: Arcade Mode
To unlock Arcade Mode, beat the game once through on any difficulty level. Arcade Mode itself is split into two options - Full Challenge or Level Challenge - that add extra replayability to the game.

Unlockable: Prestige Mode
To unlock Prestige Mode, which is a multiplayer-only mode, you must reach experience level fifty-five. Multiplayer Tip

- Use the perk last stand if you're good with a pistol. When you unlock this perk it is the best perk 3 you will have. It's a chance to finish your 3 kill streak and get your team a radar, (or your 5 kill streak)
- On fully automatic weapons, short bursts = success, especially on long range. It only takes a few shots to the body or a couple to the head.
- Know when to use your knife. It is crucial you always have your knife at ready in close quarters. However, don't use it in desperation. The enemy may back away from you and you will waste time with your missed knife and 95% of the time die after the missed knife attack. It's okay to fire in those tight corners.

Helpful Hints *Especially in Veteran Difficulity*

As an avid gamer. I've figured out how to succeed in shooters. It's summed up in about two words. USE COVER! Cover is your friend in COD4, especially in Veteran and the Multiplayer aspect. Trust me, when you get into veteran, especially in the third level, where you have to find Al-Asad in the broadcasting station, COVER IS THE KEY! Once you enter the room with all of the computers and screens, there will be a closet to the right where you enter. When you get in, book it over to that closet and hide out. This is a good hiding spot, because when grenades are thrown, you can throw them back out. And you have the door to peek out of. The others can hold it out, but this isn't to say that you dont contribute. Veteran difficulity is hard, but with this tip, it should get a little bit easier! KEEP ON GAMING!

LS, RS clan tag

NOTE: FIXED SO U CANT DO IT ANYMORE (UPDATE)

I know everyone is asking on how to get the LS, RS thumb stick clan tag symbols iv posted them on many cheat sites and now ill tell you here.
(1) get a usb keyboard plug into 360
(2) go to settings and change language to French ( you can change it back after u get done)
(3) get to your clan tag in the game
(4) hold the right ATL and push either ( 0, - )
(5) dont bother with the 1/2 or 1/4 its what makes the thing work
(6) go back to xbox live menue and you will have don it
(7) you can now go change your language back
!!!NOTE!!! you will have to do this over again if u change it and your not in french language

Take It Slow

When playing this game on veteran mode, the best universally accepted advice I can give you is to TAKE IT SLOW! Can't stress it enough. On any level that you try, if you don't take your time and wait for your team, then you're in trouble, no doubt about it. So do what? Take it slow...

Stairway Sniper

If you go near any of the blocked off stairways you will notice there is a fence in front of it. they also make excellent sniper positions. in order to get past the fence you first must run toward the right corner and jump, at the same time that you jump you have to duck. so you should push LTHUMB, then A, B. it takes a lil practice but is worth it. when at the top you can either stay put and snipe or jump from one stairway to the other or the roof of one of the main buildings... have fun. more sniper spots to come.

this is very easy. all you have to do is go into a cagematch game and ask the person, "do you want to to some challenges?" then you meet at a certain point and get the headshots, challenges etc. you need. this is kind of a cheap trick but its just the fastest way to complete challenges. hope you enjoy!!!

reload often, grenades are very effective learn where to throw them, always sprint across open areas but be careful if you get caught sprinting when a guy is right on you it might get ugly, learn the maps learn where to hide and where the hotspots are, take down choppers immediately if possible, try to play with a friend so you will be sure to have someone watching your back.

Sniping

If you have trouble sniping, then the best sniper you should use is the M21. This has a rapid fire rate and is very useful when playin Team Death Match Hardcore. Also the perks you want to use for this is Deep Inpact or Iron Lungs. When you get better, use The Dreavenaux. It has a powerfull fire and a fast fire rate.

Sniping Position In Crossfire

In multiplayer go into game options,turn on old school mode, and begin the map crossfire. Find the blown up three story building that has a chair and a washing machine on the second floor. Get on top of the washing machine, look down and make sure you are standing on the brown part of the washing machine. Look up at the floor above you jump up look a little to the right, and jump up and then look left, head across the top floor to the building with a tiny fence, jump up and there you go. Have Fun!

Easy HeadShots!

To get easy headshots w/o having to do alot of work, go into a 'CageMatch'. Most players will instantly say "Wanna do headshots?". Say "Yes", then when you start the game, you and the other player will take turns getting heads shots on each other. You'll be able to get 9 or 10 headshots per game, depending on who will be the nice one and let the other player have that extra headshot.

How to beat the game on veteran

is extrememly hard first of all but it is possible. many times throughout the game ur teamates will tell something to do but u dont have to nessacarily do it. DO IT NEWAYS. ur teamates can eat bullets all day so always stay close to them and listen out for them.
